London as the heart of Europe is this incredible city filled with thousands of young people moving there every year to fulfill their dreams. I remember driving through London for the first time in my life when I moved to England. I took a train from Gatwick Airport to Central London and remember standing in the middle of the Victoria station with my 3 suitcases about my size, looking at the massive tabloo of train times, surrounded by hundreds of people storming past me, not having any idea at all about where I am or where I am supposed to go. I was like a lost puppy just standing there with a blank mind trying to observe the situation, I felt so small. I took a black cab around London and saw all of it for the first time, it was so beautiful. All of us have an idea of London and it's red doubledeckers, cute little pubs and dreamy parks. It was exactly like that...
Soon enough I realised that this kind of city is far from what I dream of as a perfect place to live in. I felt that it got suffocating in some ways. I felt that there was too many people, who are constantly rushing somewhere, too much traffic, too busy to just take a minute and look around you. It's weird because I always thought that's what I wanted and that's what attracts me. But I have learned that I was so wrong, today I know that I much more fancy living somewhere calm and cosy, where I can go out and find myself, even if just for a moment, surrounded by noone. I think it's just because I am quite a sensitive person and that kind of life would simply just shrink my energy. I'd feel so empty and tired of spending 3 hours a day just for travelling to get somewhere.
Varsti sain aru, et selline linn on kaugel sellest, mida kujutasin ette ideaalse paigana, kus elada. See muutus natukene klaustrofoobiliseks. Liiga palju inimesi, kes koguaeg kuhugile kiirustavad, suured ummikud ja vihased emotsioonid, inimesed tormavad ringi ilma oma pilku maast tõstmast, igalpool on kohutavad järjekorrad ja selleks, et ühest kohast teise reisida kulutad pool päeva, mis imas mind energiast täiesti tühjaks ja lõpuks koju jõudes olin omadega täitsa läbi. Imelik, kuna olin alati arvanud, et just seda ma ju tahangi. Nüüdseks olen õppinud, et tahan rahu enda ümber, eelistan elada kohas, kus saan minna välja ja leida kasvõi minutiks koht, kus mind ei ümbritse mitte ükski inimene.
I do think these kind of places are an unique experience. Every time I go to London, I end up with a completely new experience. There is so much of everything - I keep finding new incredible locations, events that blow my mind, dining in places I couldn't imagine of and meeting new people who have all come together in this humongous city and everyone has a story to tell, it's fascinating really. Once or twice a month is perfect for me to go and observe this unpredictable environment and just continue to be surprised by all of it really.
Yesterday I decided to go to London because I had a free weekend and my dear housemate Pauline was planning to go anyways, so why not spend it going to galleries, see some live music and having a good night out once in a while? I have this favorite place of mine I keep going back to every time. The Cuban is a bar located in the heart of Camden Market. I happened to find this place once being by myself looking for a place to go for a drink and I remember walking around the corner of Camden Market and hearing this incredible rhythm coming from this house, I stepped in and it was a whole another world, I loved it because it has such a contrast compared to the grey and rainy London, you go inside and there is this cosy bar with live acts and drummers dancing on the bar, great music, lots of temperament and beautiful people just enjoying the night and socialising with everyone. It is something very different to a normal nightclub, it turns from restaurant at the day time into a bar and into the craziest nights.
Also, there is a Lumiere Festival 2016 held in the Central that we saw, it's a big light festival, which means that the central London will exhibit large installations of light created by various artists. I absolutely loved that, it was something I have never seen in my life. Over 30 glowing artworks have landed in the city, illuminating iconic streets and landmarks with a mix of neon sculptures, 3D projections and interactive installations. From neon dogs, to magical gardens, to a full blown circus.

The sculpture is constructed from thousands of feet of twine, and is named after one of the impacts of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011, when the earth's rotation momentarily sped up and shortened that day by 1.8 microseconds.
See skulptuur on nimetatud Jaapani maavärina ja tsunaami järgi 2011 aastal, kui maa rotatsioon kiirenes ja aeglustus 1.8 mikrosekundi võrra ühe päeva jooksul.
