Yesterday I was reading this magazine article from Marie Claire and it absolutely wowed me. It's about an artist and she is called Lauren Baker, she creates skulls, but I mean they are pretty amazing. She has been an artist for 2,5 years and has worked with Jimmy Choo, Harrods, Tate and London Fashion Week, I know right?
In the interview with the magazine she talks about how she quit her corporate job because it just felt dull and because she always knew that she is an artist in heart. So she travelled to South America in search of a higher purpose. After stumbling across a street art project, she started making some mosaics on the streets just to make people smile, that lead her to do a short course in mosaics in Venice. After her first exhibition in the basement of a pub, she was noticed by Tate and from there she started working for big brands mentioned before.
I just find her story very inspiring and her work is amazing, just to quit your job and listen to your gut, I wish more people did that, remarkable really! She says: "Be fearless in putting your work out there!", that's very true and even gave me a little push to do some more work. Her work has inspired me a lot and I want to go and do some art and beautiful sculptures now!
