Have you ever seen the movie Eat, Pray, Love? Remember how Julia Roberts escaped to Bali, drove her little Vespa around the green fields and fell in love with Javier Bardem, it's one of those movie moments you will never forget, at least for me. I don't know why I feel such passion towards this little province, bare in mind that I have never even visited Indonesia, but something about this place just makes me dream and wonder and it's definitely the number one destination on my list as I have probably mentioned before, many times.

Bali, known as the "Island of Demons", "The Island of Thousand Gods" or "The Last Paradise" is the smallest province of Indonesia and yet one of the most magical places people dream to go to. Although Indonesia is officially a muslim country, Bali is a pocket of hindu religion and culture. Balinese are known as the happiest people on earth, I wonder why..

The land of thousand temples, each one more impressive than the last one, in Bali, people worship all the gods together with Buddhist heroes, spirits of ancestors and sacred places. Religion in Bali is a belief system that embraces not only theology, philosophy, and mythology, but ancestor worship, animism and magic. It is believed that gods and goddesses are in everything we see and feel - in every element of nature.

Bali is also famous for its rich and vibrant art. Daily rituals are practised to celebrate birth, death and rebirth. Stories are told by dance, emotions are expressed in drama and happiness is expressed in music. Doesn't that sound magical?

In the late 60s and early 70s, the hippie culture times, Bali was called "The Last Paradise", which it probably was at that time, before it was destroyed by mass tourism. Out of all of the Indonesia, I think it's still one of those places you can see and feel the original roots, traditions and true spirits of this little island, which makes it an absolute must go!

Villa Getaways is offering a humongous range of villas in different parts of Bali from which I have chosen the Villa 350 in Ubud as my perfect getaway. I chose Ubud because it's in central Bali with beautiful views. It is also the cultural center and one of the most popular destinations. If you check out their website, you can find a range of the most amazing getaway locations including Hawaii, Fiji and the Maldives with breathtaking villas.

Have you seen something more beautiful than this? Nope neither have I!

What are your dream locations and why?
