What Dreams are Made Out of?

I've always dreamed of being that person who naturally wakes up at 7-8am and goes to bed by 12pm to wake up bright eyes and bushy tailed. Nope, not me.. I've had sleeping problems since I was a little girl, I don't know what it is but I just won't fall asleep no matter how tired I am. Even if I have to be at work at 9am and have been awake for more than 20 hours, it just won't happen. So there I am usually rolling around staring at the ceiling until my body finally gives up and falls asleep. And when it does, it's always a struggle - James tells me that I often speak in my sleep, how creepy is that?

But I'm not here to talk about my strange sleeping patterns. Today I have a wonderful post for you guys about a brand called Feather&Down. They create the most adorable range of products promoting good sleep and relaxation, which is exactly what I've been looking for. When the package first arrived at my door and I opened it, I instantly smelled this blend of the most amazing aromas. I can honestly say that if good sleep had a smell, that would be it! Dominating lavender and chamomile are accompanied by cocoa, shea butter and sweet almond oil. Did you know that lavender increases the type of brain waves associated with relaxation? Chamomile on the other is widely considered as a tranquilizer able to induce sleep.

The Sleep Salts and Bath Essence make my whole bathroom smell heavenly and my skin still smells of it in the morning. I'm absolutely in love with the Sleep Butter though - on package it says: "Wrap yourself in a blanket of relaxing essential oils blended into a rich butter and allow it to melt into your skin overnight. Awake well-rested with beautifully soft, nourished skin and a refreshed mind". That is so beautifully said and it's exactly what it does. I've always believed in the power of aroma, for example citrus always makes me happy and cinnamon reminds me of home. This butter is such a big hit, my sister actually sneaks it out of my apartment is tiny jars...

I definitely suggest you to visit their website because they have a big range of products including candles, pillow sprays, balms and even sleep masks and diffusers which I have my eyes set on! But the question is - have I slept better since staring to use these? Yes I have and I believe that the explanation also lies within the before-bed-routine. Every evening when I take my bath and rub myself into this lovely butter, my brain gets a signal that it's time to go to sleep because that's what the smell reminds it of...
